Jolif is a winemaking project from Luke Jolliffe solely dedicated to Chardonnay. 

The word ‘Jolif’ is old French for joyful, radiant, alive with beauty.

When Chardonnay is grown with care, farmed with patience and crafted with understanding, it can bring an emotional response. It’s not just a wine to satisfy the palate, it can stir something deeper. This is what great Chardonnay has done for me, It has captivated me.

I have dedicated my career to both growing and making. During this time I have worked hard to win over 30 trophies in regional, national and international wine competitions. 'Jolif’ is the culmination of close to 30 years of learning. Learning to craft Chardonnay that is more than a drink, it is an experience.

Margaret River is a place where soil, climate, and variety converge in a way that's hard to replicate. It's the kind of intangible alchemy that produces truly world-class wine.

The French have a word for it: terroir (ter-wahr) — that sense of place a wine carries, stamped into every glass.

The traditional owners of what is now known as the Margaret River (Wooditjup Bilya) are the Wadandi people. They used intuition and an understanding of nature to live on Wadandi Boodja (South West WA), not defined by a calendar but by changes occurring in nature. From the flowering of plants, to the hibernation of reptiles, to the appearance of salmon.

We believe exceptional wine is made the same way, through connection to land and plants, and an understanding of what is occurring in nature. This is becoming even more important as our climate changes.
